In this neighborhood restaurant, chef and owner John Sheely combines the food of his Texas roots with that of the French Riviera, along with an award-winning international wine list. Diners can enjoy the casual feel and pace that to Sheely is the place he has always wanted to open, where he himself likes to "hang out."

October '05 Event

TheSquare Houston Holiday Happy Hour @ Backstreet Cafe .

If you've never been, now's the time - between 6:30 and 8:30pm on Friday, October 7 - to visit Backstreet Cafe (1103 South Shepherd, 713.521.2239), when your Squaremates will all be there to help you with your wine and whatnot.

The Backstreet Cafe has been a favorite Houston bistro for many than 20 years thanks to Executive Chef Hugo Ortego's menu: American with smatterings of flavors from other parts of the world.

Who knows what we'll get to taste there!
